Thái Huyền

Đặng Thái Huyền was born in Hanoi, graduated top of her class in directing from the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema in 2003, and holds a master's degree in film and television arts. In 2004 she worked as script supervisor on the film "Tiếng cồng định mệnh", then joined the People's Army Cinema studio and was soon assigned her first feature, "Đêm vùng biên".

"Mười ba bến nước" earned her Best Director at the 16th Vietnam Film Festival (2009), and in 2015 she won the award again with "Đất lành", along with Best Screenplay for "Người trở về". In 2017 she made "Lời nguyền gia tộc", recognised as the first horror film by a Vietnamese female director.

She was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2024; in 2025, "Mưa đỏ" – a film about the battle for the Quảng Trị Citadel, adapted from Chu Lai's novel – won many major awards, including the Cánh Diều Vàng (Golden Kite).

Babyface Entertainment, a Vietnam casting agency since 2009, helps brands, agencies and production houses book Đặng Thái Huyền for commercials, TVCs, key-visual shoots, events and KOL campaigns, working through the artist’s management to confirm availability and fees.

NSƯT Đặng Thái Huyền proved her craft early at the Vietnam Film Festival with two Best Director awards in the video feature category for Mười ba bến nước (2009) and Đất lành (2015), along with Best Feature Screenplay for Người trở về. After receiving the title of Meritorious Artist in 2024, she led Mưa đỏ to the Cánh Diều Vàng for feature film and won Best Director at the Cánh Diều Awards 2025, followed by Best Director at the 12th Ngôi Sao Xanh (Blue Star) Awards. In April 2026 she was awarded the Third-class Labour Order by the State President.
