Đặng Thu Thảo entered the pageant world as a student at Tây Đô University in Cần Thơ. In 2012 she won the title of Hoa khôi Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long (Mekong Delta Beauty Queen) and then went on to be crowned Hoa hậu Việt Nam 2012, together with the sub-award Người có gương mặt đẹp nhất (Most Beautiful Face).

The win made her the first contestant from the Southwest region to wear the Miss Vietnam crown. After her crowning year she continued to take part in social activities and fashion events.

In 2015 she joined the cast of the feature film Hợp đồng bắt ma by director Lê Quang Thanh Tâm. In 2016 she sat on the judging panel of Hoa hậu Việt Nam 2016.

Today she makes selective showbiz appearances, mainly at fashion events, while running her own business.

Babyface Entertainment, a Vietnam casting agency since 2009, helps brands, agencies and production houses book Đặng Thu Thảo for commercials, TVCs, key-visual shoots, events and KOL campaigns, working through the artist’s management to confirm availability and fees.

The year 2012 brought Đặng Thu Thảo two consecutive wins: Hoa khôi Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long (Mekong Delta Beauty Queen) and Hoa hậu Việt Nam (Miss Vietnam), along with the Most Beautiful Face award. She is the first beauty from the Southwest region to hold the Miss Vietnam crown.
