Duy Mạnh
Duy Mạnh is a Hải Phòng-born singer-songwriter who writes and performs most of his own songs. He rose to fame in the mid-2000s with his debut album "Tình em là đại dương" and a series of widely popular songs such as "Hãy về đây bên anh", "Kiếp đỏ đen" and "Ta đâu có say".
Career story
In the late 1990s, Duy Mạnh moved to Ho Chi Minh City, accompanying other singers on piano while singing at music lounges, bars and small stages, performing love songs he had written himself such as "Tình yêu còn đâu". His name as a songwriter became widely known through the song "Giây phút chia xa", performed by Đàm Vĩnh Hưng and Lý Hải.
His debut album "Tình em là đại dương" (2005) was a turning point, selling around 20,000 copies and being reissued three times. The songs "Hãy về đây bên anh", "Kiếp đỏ đen", "Ta đâu có say" and "Dĩ vãng cuộc tình" spread widely, and in 2005 he became the first person to receive both the Favourite Singer and Favourite Songwriter awards from Làn Sóng Xanh (Green Wave) at the same time.
Beyond love songs, he has a separate body of work on social themes, such as "Kiếp đỏ đen", "Kiếp bán độ" and "Lời xin lỗi của một dân chơi", carrying cautionary messages. From 2005 to 2016 he released 13 numbered albums at a steady pace, and in 2024 tried a rap-influenced song, "Hãy dừng lại đi em".
Babyface Entertainment, a Vietnam casting agency since 2009, helps brands, agencies and production houses book Duy Mạnh for commercials, TVCs, key-visual shoots, events and KOL campaigns, working through the artist’s management to confirm availability and fees.
