Hữu Châu

Born in Saigon, Hữu Châu graduated from Theater Arts School No. 2 (now the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema) in 1985 and had his first role with the Kim Cương drama troupe in 1986.

In 1990, his role as the hermit in Đời luận anh hùng earned him a Gold Medal at the national theater festival; in 1994 he formed a comedy duo with Minh Nhí. He won the Mai Vàng award for Stage Actor in 2000 for Cái tráp vàng and in 2007 for his role as Nguyễn Trãi in Bí mật vườn Lệ Chi, while also directing many plays at IDECAF and receiving the Cù Nèo Vàng award for directing in 2012 for Lẩu trăn.

Named NSƯT in 2012, he has been very active in film with Tèo em (2013), Gái già lắm chiêu (2016) and Lô tô (2017) – a role that won a Ngôi Sao Xanh (Blue Star) award – along with many others such as Cậu Vàng (2021), Công tử Bạc Liêu (2024) and Lật mặt 8: Vòng tay nắng (2025). He has also returned to the cải lương stage with roles in Tiếng trống Mê Linh and Bên cầu dệt lụa.

Babyface Entertainment, a Vietnam casting agency since 2009, helps brands, agencies and production houses book Hữu Châu for commercials, TVCs, key-visual shoots, events and KOL campaigns, working through the artist’s management to confirm availability and fees.

Hữu Châu is a spoken-drama performer recognized many times by the Mai Vàng Awards: Male Drama Artist in 2000 for "Cái tráp vàng" and in 2007 for his role as Nguyễn Trãi in "Bí mật vườn Lệ Chi", and the Stage Production category in 2011 for "Quyền lực của tình yêu". He was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist and further established himself in film when he was honored at Ngôi Sao Xanh 2017 for the role of Lệ Liễu in the film "Lô tô".
